Project Overview TechnoKids uses a Project Based Learning approach. Students in grades 4th, 5th, and 6th (approximately 3300 students) will complete technology projects that focus on real life problems, issues, and topics. As I plan for the projects, I will have to determine where the students' prior knowledge begins in order to fill any gaps that are needed to be successful. Because our school has many migratory families, the timeline for completion will be extended (longer than Technokids suggests) to the end of the school year in order to include the introduction and review of skills. After completing a review session, students will follow step by step instructions to complete the project using technology skills previously learned or introduced. They will complete activities such as publishing a magazine, creating a multimedia storyboard, or developing a website. Many of these skills will be needed in their future education and beyond into their careers. |
