2022-2023 Welcome Back Letter

Greetings Griffith Families:
Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year! This year my faculty, staff, and I are committed to being All In. That means that we will continue to do whatever it takes to ensure every Griffith student receives the best learning experience possible, so that he/she is proficient academically and supported socially-emotionally. This commitment is reflected in our school vision:
“Griffith Elementary School is a learning community dedicated to nurturing each child’s academic and social-emotional potential through HIGH EXPECTATIONS!”
As a community school, Griffith plans to continue to provide our families with a top-notch experience including our quarterly Family Nights where we focus on science, mathematics, reading, technology, and the arts; along with quarterly Awards Assemblies to recognize student achievement; and a host of other fun-filled, family-centered events such as Giants Run the Night and Spring Fling. In addition, this year I am pleased to announce that we will have a full-time counselor to support our students with mental health, and a full-time social worker to help our school and community access quality resources. Moreover, Griffith will continue to implement PBIS, a behavior management framework. All of our students will be encouraged to demonstrate our learner affirmation each day: Griffith Giants Reach Higher by being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible!
Griffith will hold its annual Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The first day of school is Monday, August 8, 2022, with gates opening at 7:45 a.m., with breakfast starting at 8:11 a.m. If you have questions feel free to reach out to our front office at (602) 629-6700.
