     Dr. LoMonaco

    Dear Parents and Families,

We have just finished up our first week of school. It is nice to see such welcoming parents, families, and students back at Brunson-Lee. The summer was a well-deserved break for everyone involved in our school community.

This year we will have a very clear focus on family engagement. Academic Parent Teacher Teams will start towards the end of September. For those of you who are new to our community, feel free to click on the APTT link on our webpage to read more information about it. It is highly important that you attend these APTT meetings and work with your students on these skills. In a calendar year, we only see your student 18% of the time. We have a lot of information to give them and we need your help.

You may notice the university flags that have been hung in the hallway outside of the gym. We will begin to explore college and career readiness by having students and classes conduct their own research. Starting now, we want students to begin to discover the world of possibilities beyond Brunson-Lee. We want students to know what it means to be prepared for college or career. We want the students to identify the skills people need in order to do what they are passionate about. Even Kindergarten students dream of being an astronaut or doctor-why not have all students examine what it takes to follow their dreams?

On a final note, please ensure that your student is ready for school and here in their seat no later than 7:45 AM. If your student comes to school after 8:00 AM, there will be no breakfast. It is highly important that they are here on time and they get a chance to have a complete breakfast before beginning a long day. The front doors open at 7:30 AM.

We look forward to a great year. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything.

    Ryan LoMonaco, Ed.D.
