Balsz Community Education Foundation
The Balsz Community Education Foundation directly supports the district through grants, scholarships, and funding for educational initiatives that enrich students’ learning experiences. Their contributions help enhance academic programs, provide resources for teachers, and offer support for extracurricular activities that benefit the entire Balsz community.
Educare Arizona
Educare Arizona collaborates with Balsz to provide high-quality early childhood education programs that prepare young children for success in kindergarten and beyond. Through this partnership, Educare helps ensure that our youngest learners develop the foundational skills needed for academic and social success, benefiting families by offering early educational resources and support.
Southwest Human Development
Southwest Human Development supports Balsz students and families by providing comprehensive services that address early childhood development, mental health, family support, and literacy. Their programs empower parents with resources to support their children’s learning, while enhancing the emotional and developmental well-being of students across our district.
Boys & Girls Club of the Valley
The Boys & Girls of the Valley Bob & Renee Parsons Branch offers after-school programs, tutoring, and youth mentorship for Balsz students, giving them a safe, engaging place to learn and grow outside of school hours. This partnership supports working families by providing accessible, high-quality programs that foster academic achievement, leadership, and personal development.
Mountain Park Health Center
Mountain Park Health Center provides accessible healthcare services for Balsz students and their families, focusing on physical, mental, and preventative health. Their services ensure students are healthy and ready to learn, and they offer families guidance and support in managing their health, contributing to a healthier school community.
The Balsz Pediatric Clinic is located next door do Brunson-Lee Elementary School (https://mountainparkhealth.org/location/balsz-pediatric-clinic/) offers pediatric medical and dental services.
Arizona K12 Center Mentoring Program
Balsz School District is the proud recipient of the Arizona New Teacher Project Grant funded by the Arizona K12 Center and Northern Arizona University. Through the Arizona New Teacher Project, Balsz School District provides the newest members of our profession and district support grounded in standards with the emphasis on positively impacting student learning. First year teachers to the profession receive instructional mentoring from a full time release District Mentor trained in evidence based mentoring practices. Mentoring practices are grounded in 90-120 minutes of individual support representing instructive, facilitative, and collaborative structures. Teachers new to the district receive the support of a Mentor Coach based on a differentiated structure.
The Reading Alliance
The Reading Alliance works closely with Balsz to enhance literacy skills across all grade levels as they hyperfocus on the district’s Kindergartners. Through targeted reading programs and resources, they support our district’s commitment to literacy excellence, empowering students to develop strong reading foundations and creating opportunities for parents to engage in their child’s literacy journey.
Gateway Early College High School
Gateway Early College High School partners with Balsz to provide advanced learning opportunities for middle and high school students, including early college experiences that prepare students for future academic success. This pathway helps Balsz students gain valuable college credits while still in high school, empowering them to pursue their academic and career aspirations with confidence.
FIT - Fulfillment In Training
FIT collaborates with Balsz to promote physical fitness and character development through engaging programs that build confidence, resilience, and teamwork in our students. These activities emphasize the importance of physical health and personal growth, encouraging students to lead healthy, balanced lives.
Mega 104.3 JAMZ and 101.1 The Bounce
Mega 104.3 JAMZ and 101.1 The Bounce partners with Balsz to promote community events, programs, and educational initiatives. Their support helps increase awareness of district activities and fosters community engagement, making it easier for parents and families to stay informed and involved in school events and resources.
Assistance League Phoenix
Assistance League Phoenix supports Balsz families through programs like Operation School Bell, which provides essential clothing and supplies for students in need. By addressing these basic needs, Assistance League Phoenix helps students feel comfortable and confident at school, ensuring they’re ready to learn and succeed.
Arizona Council on Economic Education
The Arizona Council on Economic Education collaborates with Balsz to integrate financial literacy and economic education into our curriculum. Their programs teach students essential skills in budgeting, saving, and financial responsibility, preparing them to be knowledgeable, responsible participants in their communities and future workforce.
Desert Botanical Garden
Through our partnership with the Desert Botanical Garden, Balsz students have access to nature-based learning experiences that foster environmental awareness and appreciation. City of Phoenix Health & Human Services
The City of Phoenix Health & Human Services Department provides critical support to Balsz families by offering access to health programs, social services, and resources that promote well-being and stability. This partnership strengthens our district’s commitment to student wellness and community support, helping families access essential services.
City of Phoenix Neighborhood Services
The City of Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department works with Balsz to create a safe, supportive community environment. Their programs enhance the quality of life for Balsz families through neighborhood revitalization efforts, access to community resources, and initiatives that foster a strong sense of belonging and safety within our community.
City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation
