Services
The Balsz School District strives to identify and serve all students with a disability, who reside in the district. Each school has special education services to meet many of the needs of handicapped children in preschool through 8th grade.
Every school has access to a school psychologist, speech therapist, and special education teacher to meet the needs of our special education students. Each school has a resource program staffed by a special education teacher to work with students in the areas of reading, writing, math as well as in the areas of social, emotional, behavioral, organizational, and study skills.
Some students have significant needs that require four or more hours a day of special education instruction. Their needs can be met in district self-contained classes for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities, students identified on the autism spectrum, students with mild, moderate and severe intellectual disabilities, and a developmental preschool program.
If you are aware of a student who lives in the district and does or may meet one or more of the following educational disabilities, please contact our district office at 602-629-6822:
